扑克 Playing Holdem Online Poker Tournaments(如何在锦标赛玩)

Holdem poker tournaments are fast-paced and extremely fun to play. Tournament players are fortunate to have so many opportunities at online poker sites around the world today, it was not like this 10 years ago.

The other fortunate thing about holdem poker tournaments today is the huge cash prizes!

A definite key to success when playing in Texas Holdem poker tournaments is to find a strategy that works for you and fine-tune it until you become comfortable with it. Most of the poker tournaments at online poker sites are No-Limit so we will look at those today.  Many No-Limit Texas Holdem tournament players like to enter several low buy-in tournaments while others prefer to enter tournaments with a higher buy in, and therefore, a large prize pool.

The difference is the number of players that you have to defeat in order to win money. In a low buy-in Texas Holdem tournament, you will face considerably more players than you would in a tournament with a higher buy-in. The cost of the buy-in will oftentimes decrease the number of players entered in the tournament.

After deciding on the poker tournament you want to play in you will then need to decide your strategy.  Some players prefer to mix it up in the early rounds when the blinds are lower, and in so doing hope to catch a nice three or four-way pot and build up their stack. There are a lot of advantages to this strategy because you need to build a stack to win.  Other players stay out of pots early unless they get great hands and let some players get taken out before they get involved.

It all depends on the way you play poker.  If you like to play loosely and see a lot of flops, then the early rounds are where you want to make your stand, and hope that you catch some decent hands and get some chips. If, on the other hand, you like to play a little tighter, then consider waiting through a round, let the loose players mix it up awhile, and come out aggressively when the blinds have gone up. Betting here is not a bad plan since blinds are higher and pot sizes are greater.

You also have to decide how your short-handed game will be played. Texas Holdem played nine or ten handed is a completely different game when it is played three or four handed. The blinds come around much quicker and are doubling very quickly.  You must be aggressive and lower your starting hand requirements to win shorthanded.  Mixing up your game is also a good strategy for tournaments as you never want your opponents to peg your style as predictable.  Playing online poker tournaments is great fun and something you may want to look at.
